Nice to meet you
YOUR CHAMBER TEAM
Terry Hayward
Chief Executive
Could it be you?
After starting his career as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police Terry then worked overseas in Malaysia and Belize for 2 years for a leading international youth development charity.
In 1997 Terry joined World Challenge and in 2003 he was part of the management team that bought the business with a view to building it into the number one provider of school’s expeditions in the world. The success of the business led to it being acquired by TUI Travel plc in 2008 with a considerable return for shareholders.
In 2009, having sought out a new opportunity, Terry established Everyday Hero Ltd in Macclesfield, providing fundraising services to the not-for-profit sector. After a period of sustained growth the business was acquired by Blackbaud Inc. in 2013.
Terry has since run his own consultancy specialising in business growth, strategy and leadership. He has been a member of both North Cheshire and Manchester Chambers of Commerce, the Federation for Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors, so he knows the value of membership organisations to SMEs.
When he’s not working Terry loves to cycle, golf, ski and SCUBA dive as well as enjoying the hills of the Peak District with his crazy chocolate labrador, Koda.
Jade Hyde – Membership & Events Manager
Jade joined the Chamber in December 2023 and brings with her a wealth of experience in event planning, sales and account management. She is responsible for the Chamber’s varied calendar of events and ensuring our members get the most out of their membership.
Sue Bowden – Accounts & Project Manager
Sue Bowden - CEO
Sue’s early working life was spent with Barclays Bank where she honed her financial skills but wanting to broaden her horizons, she went into the heady world of advertising.
Apart from five years as an expat in the Middle East, she spent over a decade in agencies around Manchester … from HQO, JWT, BCMB and finally McCanns … not quite Mad Men of Manhattan, but more Mad Men of Manchester ! She experienced working in both small and large agencies, and across a wide variety of clients as Account Manager – a role that requires a good grasp of project management and co-ordination, with a keen eye for detail and creative flair, as well as the flexible approach required for the marketing environment.
She left the advertising and marketing world supposedly for a more “live to work” lifestyle but got embroiled in the unique and intricate world of the Chamber of Commerce where she celebrated her 20th anniversary in 2017. Having recently retired as CEO, Sue is remaining with the Chamber to look after Export Documentation and manage other specific projects.
In her precious downtime Sue can happily spend hours in her garden, there’s always a project on the go. Being a bit of a foodie she’s always on the lookout for a new recipe to try, and of course with food goes the latest wine offering. And since losing her own “dog-daughter”, she is now Auntie Sue to friends’ dogs who stay for their holidays and keep her out and about on the dog walking trails.
