Thorneycroft Solicitors announce new community sponsorships

Thorneycroft Solicitors announce new community sponsorships

Chamber Patrons, Thorneycroft Solicitors have developed an excellent reputation for “giving back to the community” where they have offices, as well as to both local and national organisations including The Christie at Macclesfield,  and they are delighted to announce that they have agreed to sponsor two local athletes. For the 2020 season, they will be the proud sponsors of Macclesfield-based duathlete Natalie Duncombe, as well as Bradley Wilson, a superbike racer from Derbyshire.

Natalie is a member of Team GB who, in the past two years, has competed in two European Championships. She now has her sights set on the 2020 season and is also preparing to take on her first half-iron distance triathlon.

Bradley is a budding young superbike racer who completed his first full season as a BSB rider in 2019, and in 2020 he looks forward to more opportunities both within the BSB paddock and without, with the ultimate aim of competing in the Isle of Man TT races.

Both announcements come hot on the heels of Thorneycroft Solicitors also announcing that they will be renewing their sponsorship of British Superbike racer and local motorcyclist, Christian Iddon, who will be riding for his new team, PBM Ducati, in 2020.

Christian said: “I am delighted to once again have the support of Thorneycroft Solicitors. A local company to myself who have the rights of bikers at their core. I have also been able to utilise a range of their other services and had a fantastic experience in doing so.”

The firm will also be renewing their sponsorship of Katie Toft, a World Champion in Paracycling from High Peak.

Katie has developed an excellent relationship with the team at Thorneycroft Solicitors and we are thoroughly excited to see what the 2020 season holds in store.

Thorneycroft Solicitors support Carol Concert in aid of The Christie

Chamber Patrons, Thorneycroft Solicitors, have been supporting some fantastic causes over the course of the Christmas period including sponsoring The Christie’s first-ever Macclesfield Christmas Carol Concert.

The concert took place at Macclesfield’s St Michael & All Angel Church on Tuesday 17th December and saw over 400 guests attend the yule-tide extravaganza from the local community,  as well as local businesses and organisations.

Radio presenter Mark Radcliffe was the host for the evening and guests enjoyed a fantastic evening of live music in aid of an amazing cause, with singer Katherine Farrow, Fallibroome Academy Choir and the Macclesfield Youth Brass band all performing throughout the evening.

The Christie charity is currently looking to raise £23 million in order to fund the new centre, which will enable more than 1,500 existing cancer patients to receive the outstanding cancer care that The Christie provide, much closer to home.  All proceeds from the concert will go towards The Christie at Macclesfield.

The new centre in Macclesfield will reduce the travel time for those who require cancer care and give those in the East Cheshire area more opportunities to take part in clinical trials.

Thorneycroft Solicitors are immensely proud to be able to continue to show their support for The Christie and help those in their local community.

What a “smashing” event!

What a “smashing” event!

The Chamber’s recent network event with Macclesfield Tennis Club was a smash hit and was the perfect prelude to Wimbledon – we had a great crowd of people, the sun shone in perfect harmony with the green courts, the strawberries and cream were delicious, the prosecco flowed, and the tennis was unexpectedly good … not that we doubted it!
Martin Todd, Chairman of the tennis club, gave an potted history of the club which is one of the oldest in Cheshire and is a little hidden gem tucked away in the corner of the Learning Zone campus.  The club welcomes new members and Martin announced a special offer on membership to Chamber members – so if you fancy donning your whites and picking up your racket, talk to Martin or coach, Colin Grant, down at the club on 01625 427 635.
Active Cheshire also joined us to promote the huge benefits of introducing health and wellbeing into the workplace, and how encouraging your employees to get physically active is becoming almost as important as annual leave. Active Cheshire offer a Workplace pledge as a free service, so if you’d like to know more about introducing a health and wellbeing culture into your workplace, contact Nont Lamkamphaeng at nont@activecheshire.org or call 07540 121706.
