Winning a business award and even being a finalist is a much-overlooked marketing tool that can raise the profile of your company beyond the normal marketing routes. All finalists in the 2025 North Cheshire Business Awards will receive a Winner or Highly Commended logo to use on their marketing material as well as a certificate to display at their place of work.

APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR
The award will be presented to an Apprentice who has:
1. Shown outstanding progress and commitment to personal development.
2. Made a positive impact within their business.
3. Demonstrated dedication to training and development
4. Exceptional contribution to their workplace
BEST COMPANY TO WORK FOR
This Award is dedicated to finding a business which excels in looking after its staff through effective leadership, healthy workplace culture and well-being practices, training and development opportunities and wider employee benefit structures, to make it a great company to work for
The winner will be a business that employees are proud to work for and which has shown to make a real and lasting contributions to the local community throughout the last year.
BEST CREATIVE CAMPAIGN
This award is dedicated to finding a creative campaign or project that excels in innovation, execution, and impact for both the client and end target audience.
The creative campaign/project can be in print, digital or a combination of media formats including websites, logos/corporate identities, brochures, social media or other forms of corporate communications that have delivered tangible results.
Rather than creativity for creative sake we will need to see supporting information and/or statistics if available to show the impact your creative and strategic solutions have had on the business.
Example visuals of work must be submitted. Please provide these either as a PDFs or online links.
Entries are welcome from in-house teams, agencies, consultancies or printers.
BUSINESS OF THE YEAR (OVER £1.5M TURNOVER)
This award will be dedicated to the company that demonstrates all-round excellence in business delivering an innovative product or service within a sustainable, secure financial and business model.
BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
This award will go to an individual who demonstrates leadership, innovation, financial growth, and impact. The winner will be a visionary with strategic thinking, resilience, and ethical values. They will have shown strong community involvement, industry influence, and a proven track record of success.
A compelling application should highlight achievements, creativity, and a clear contribution to business excellence.
CHARITY OF THE YEAR
The winners of this award will become our Charity Partner next year and will benefit from fundraising activity and all the brand awareness generated by the North Cheshire Business Awards.
The Charity will work with us to help promote the Awards whilst benefiting from profile exposure throughout the local and business community.
The essential criteria is that you must be a Charity based within the North Cheshire area that benefits people locally, though not exclusively, and be making a real impact on the Charity sector you are working with.
HEALTH & WELLBEING AWARD
The Health & Wellbeing Award recognises an organisation that has shown a commitment to the health and wellbeing of its staff. The Judges will consider several key factors that demonstrate the business’s commitment and impact on promoting health and wellbeing. Ultimately, the judges will be looking for a business that goes beyond superficial efforts and genuinely prioritises the health and wellbeing of its employees, creating a positive and supportive work environment.
SCIENCE AND INNOVATION AWARD
With North Cheshire being renowned as a hub of research and development excellence, this award aims to celebrate businesses who have demonstrated innovative approaches in products, processes, technology or campaigns to enable significant advancements to their business and/or the end-user.
Judges will look for groundbreaking research, technological advancements, and real-world impact. Innovation, originality, and problem-solving ability are key. Strong scientific methodology, sustainability, and potential for commercialisation or societal benefit matter. A compelling application should showcase achievements, collaboration, and contributions to advancing knowledge, improving industries, or solving specific challenges effectively.
SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR (UP TO £1.5M TURNOVER)
This award will go to a small company (turnover in 2024 of less than £1.5m) that demonstrates all-round excellence in business delivering an innovative product or service within a sustainable, secure financial and business model.
START-UP BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
This award will go to a company that registered or started trading no earlier than 1st April 2023 and has brought a fantastic new product or service to market, found a niche area to focus on or have overcome all odds to achieve success.
The winner will be a business who demonstrates an ambition to succeed and a thirst to sustain and grow the business in the future.
TEAM OF THE YEAR
The Team of the Year Award will be awarded to a business, or to a specific team within a business that can demonstrate and show real life examples of how teamwork has led to their success. and their consistent, high levels of customer care and service.
The winning business team should demonstrate exceptional collaboration, innovation, and efficiency. They must show strong leadership, adaptability, and a results-driven approach. Success in achieving goals, overcoming challenges, and driving business growth is key. A high-performing, motivated team that fosters a positive workplace culture and delivers outstanding impact stands out.
