The Chamber is joining forces with Age UK Cheshire East in promoting their Business Breakfast to celebrate UN International Older Persons Day.
The breakfast event is being held at Age UK Cheshire East’s own premises in Macclesfield with the aim of raising awareness of the vital work that the local charity does for older people, how older people themselves are supporting its services, and how it has had to evolve its service offer to reflect the different funding environment in which it now operates.
Chamber patron, Thorneycroft Solicitors, and member North West Mediation, have already become part of the charity’s Supporters Scheme and will be talking about why they have partnered with the charity to support their work.
The event will provide valuable networking with local businesses over a Danish pastry and coffee, and will give an insight into the valuable work Age UK Cheshire East are doing to support the ageing population, which is acknowledged as being particularly high in Cheshire East.
Dementia is one of the conditions affecting an increasing number of individuals as life expectancy gets longer and it is expected to grow rapidly in the UK, and indeed globally There will be a 45-minute Dementia Friends information session at the end of the event for any guests wishing to stay and learn more. Many of us come into contact with people suffering from dementia and this session will help businesses understand how small changes can have a big impact on any clients living with dementia.
The Chamber is co-ordinating bookings for this event so please book here is you wish to attend this free event.
