The Chamber Team
Congratulations to Justin Morrison for 20 years at CARA Technology.
Justin joined CARA straight from school on an IT apprenticeship. Having spent many years responsible for a workshop production of PCs Laptops and Servers, Justin became more involved in both sales and purchase order processing until eventually earning the title of Business Manager in 2017. Justin is at the heart of the company’s culture and selflessly supports every team member.
Managing Director, Andrew Rosamond, commented on the anniversary: “It has been and continues to be an absolute pleasure to work closely with Justin, he is as passionate about the success of our business as Tony (Caballero) and I are. He displays a level of professionalism and commitment that inspires us all to be the best version of ourselves. As well as a valued colleague I am genuinely lucky enough to number Justin in my close circle of friends.”

Macclesfield-based Autac Products Ltd is set to invest £2.8 million in the town to develop a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
The new facility is a sizeable 12,500 square feet, and will nearly triple the floor space when added to the business’ existing premises on London Road. This new additional site at Guildford House on Lyme Green Business Park provides an opportunity to develop a brand new manufacturing facility to cater for the increased demand for the Autac brand. And will include injection moulding, cable preparation, assembly, and added value dispatch, enabling the business to further improve its supply chain operations and work in partnership with its customers to meet their increasingly high demands.
With new office space for the growing Autac team, there are also plans for training rooms, meeting rooms, a staff canteen and changing rooms, and a new innovation lab for the design, research and development team.
The third-generation business has seen significant growth since husband-and-wife team David and Sallie Lowe bought the business in 2016, with revenue increasing from £1.7 million to £5 million over that period. The company is now firmly on course to achieving its ambition of £7.5 million in revenue within the ten-year timeframe ending in 2026.
This latest chapter in the company’s growth has been made possible by the commitment its customers and staff have shown over recent years and the ongoing success of the Autac brand.
David Lowe, Autac’s Managing Director said,
“All at Autac have kept their focus on the job at hand as the British manufacturing sector has navigated the waters of Brexit, Covid, supply chain issues, and rising raw material and energy costs. We’ve invested wisely – whether that be investing our time in improving our operations, the launch of our EV cable manufacture division or in supporting our customers in overcoming their own challenges.
We’re excited about the opportunities this new venture will bring, one that really wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support and commitment from our customers, suppliers and of course, our Autac team.”
The business is ambitious for the future, with plans to invest further in new technologies and equipment and ensure that the Autac brand continues to strengthen its reputation and position as a high-quality British manufacturer.
Production is expected to begin at the new premises in early 2023.

Thermmark Ltd is a leading supplier of road and playground markings. Based in Cheshire, and with the dedication and commitment to provide the best quality products, their status as a market leader has once again been reaffirmed by way of another award, now making them a triple award winning business!
Recently, Thermmark has been awarded the ‘Best Road & Playground Markings Supplier 2022’ award by the UK Enterprise Awards hosted by SME News. This is a result of their hard work, diligence, and commitment over the past couple of years to overcome challenges caused by the pandemic, lockdowns, and the subsequent economic aftermath.
They have been presented with this title for their creativity, innovative thinking, and approach to trial and error. They continuously work on their products and processes to stay at the top of their game and ahead of competitors which enables them to find new ways to use a niche product at an international level. To be recognised for this is a huge accolade for Thermmark Ltd and the fantastic team they have. Every member of their team has worked hard to make this happen! Additionally, they have recently received the Central Prestige Award trophy for ‘Specialist Signage Business of the Year’, which follows their FSB win, naming them as North West International Business Of The Year – another one for their trophy cabinet!
Furthermore, increased exposure of the Thermmark brand has meant continued growth for the company, allowing them to provide further job opportunities whilst working across a great variety of sectors, not just limited to the road and playground markings highlighted by the recent award, but also preformed electric vehicle charging bay markings, a growing market which they are proud to be a leader in.
As a small business they recognise the need to actively build a great reputation through their quality products, design work, and customer service and investing in these areas are three ways that they have strengthened their reputation and continued to grow.
